Hula Halau O’ LeiLani has performed in Oklahoma since 2002 under the direction of Kumu Hula Leilani Sheldon.  She has studied under Kumu Hula Leina’ala Naipo Akamine, Iwalani Ohelo, and Lani Ogawa.

The halau performs beautiful, colorful dances from the Hawaiian Islands including kahiko, the ancient style of hula, auana, the contemporary hula style, and hapa haole, hula with English lyrics.  Also included in the repertoire are dances from Tahiti, New Zealand, and Samoa.  They are skilled in the use of traditional implements from all these islands.  Some of these implements include the ipu, pu’ili, ‘uli’uli, i’is, kala’au, ka’eke’eke, and poi balls.

This highly acclaimed dance troupe has performed for many enthusiastic audiences all around Tulsa and the surrounding areas. This halau always leaves audiences wanting more!
